“Gordon Ramsay’s Pub Faces Squatter Invasion Amid $16 Million Sale”

Gordon Ramsay is having another kitchen nightmare at his problem-plagued London restaurant — squatters.

Trespassers have overtaken the Central London property where the celebrity chef’s York & Albany served customers before a high-profile legal battle over the historic venue, now listed for sale at £13 million, or about $16 million.

According to the BBC, at least six people have occupied the property, owned by British filmmaker Gary Love.

With reported plans to use the space as a community art cafe, the group had a notice posted to the door stating it had the right to occupy the venue, citing a law that protects squatters in non-residential buildings.

Since the venue is clearly not a residence, the self-described “Occupiers” feel they have rights to the premises, which has been classified as “disused.”

The squatters reportedly claimed that any attempt to enter the spot without permission was a criminal offense and could result in a prison sentence or fine.

“If you want to get us out you will have to issue a claim for possession in the county court or in the High Court,” the note said.

The Metropolitan Police said it was aware the group is in the space, referring to it as a “civil matter.” That’s the reason it stated “police did not attend the property.”

Love purchased the former 19th-century coaching inn in 2007.  A year later, he leased it to Ramsay on a 25-year term with an annual rent of £640,000.

In 2014, the “Hell’s Kitchen” star — who opened a Fish & Chips eatery in Times Square in 2022 —  accused his father-in-law and business associate of forging his signature.  He asked a judge to grant a declaration that the deal was not binding.

High Court judge Paul Morgan ruled in 2015 that the contract was binding and ordered Ramsay to make an interim payment to Love of £250,000.
